travel asia taiwan taipei taipei 101
ARCHITECT: C.Y. LEE & PARTNERS (2004)
Taipei 101, formerly known as the Taipei World financial Center, has 101 floors and was officially designated as the world tallest from 2004 to 2010.
Taipei 101 received a Platinum rating under the LEED certification in 2011 becoming the largest "green building" in the world.
It is designed to withstand typhoon winds and earthquake tremors common in the area.
Taipei 101 is very hard to photograph for many reasons... size, weather conditions, polution.
As unusual as the building is, I found that I was slightly under-impressed.
Perhaps if I had seen it on a clearer day and possibly visited the interior, my impressions would be different.
